The Learning for Life Autism Centre (L4Life) is a not-for-profit organisation supporting autistic and other neurodivergent children to develop skills that promote independence and choice. They are a registered NDIS provider. Established in 2004 to address the inequity of access to quality early intervention, their program offerings have grown to incorporate more services, as well as training for families, carers, and educators to help support these young people throughout their learning journey. L4Life has a clear vision… a world where all autistic and neurodivergent people can thrive and live the life they choose.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Learning for Life Autism Centre. The Learning for Life journey has been transformative, marked by incredible progress, evolution, and achievement. Working collaboratively with the Board, Executive Team, Stakeholders and the L4Life Village, the CEO will lead the organisation through the next chapter of its development with the agility, flexibility and adaptability needed for the ever-changing settings that shape their work across the education, health, disability, and charity sectors.

You will have oversight and responsibility of L4Life service delivery and operations, plus culture, safety, risk, compliance, quality and governance aspects, and provide visionary leadership to L4Life, and the team of 40+ staff who are supporting over 140 families, plus educators and schools across Victoria.

Building relationships with diverse stakeholders and networks will be crucial. Through your influence and communication skills, you will create alignment throughout the L4Life village – with staff, Board, families, schools, government, donors and new network connections. As CEO, you will lead L4Life through existing and new business strategies, and delivery of operational plans and activities to create partnerships to achieve organisational goals and objectives. You will motivate and lead a collaborative, cohesive, and high-performing Leadership Team, and provide mentoring to enhance the strength and capability of the management team to successfully deliver the organisation’s strategy.

About YOU:

  • An authentic, innovative, empowering, collaborative and values-driven leader with strong alignment to L4Lifes’s core values – respect, trust, equity, joy and kindness
  • Track record of building a strong organisational culture that engages and inspires staff and delivers client success. You are passionate about bringing out the best in teams
  • Ability to balance strengthening core business and growing a sustainable organisational model
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret and leverage financial data to drive improved business outcomes
  • Superior communication and connection skills to build alignment of purpose
  • Exemplary stakeholder, advocacy and relationship building skills to support delivery of organisational mission
  • An ability to lead in a changing environment with the ability to adapt and thrive to enhance organisational outcomes
  • Prior experience in a senior position(s) within the NDIS, Child Services, Disability, Allied Health and/or NFP sectors, as well as an understanding of the philanthropic landscape is desirable
  • Tertiary degree, MBA or equivalent. Graduate of AICD also highly regarded.

They have zero-tolerance for discrimination or harassment because of neurodiversity, race, colour, age, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, veteran, military or marital status, genetic information or any other protected status.
